Kettlebell Exercises

A majority of kettlebell exercises are designed to work many body parts. Most will work and engage many of the larger muscle groups. By incorporating several of these exercises into your fitness routine, you will be able to reap the benefits they provide and improve your overall physique very quickly.

Kettlebell exercises can be used to work the neck, shoulders, triceps and even the lower part of the body by working the legs. You can execute these exercises just like you would others that involve weights. So just what is kettlebell training?

Kettlebells are weights made of cast-iron that can range from five to over 100 pounds in weight. They are shaped like a ball with a handle which makes them easy to grip. They offer a different type of training that uses balance, agility and the endurance of cardio exercise. Kettlebell exercises are popular because of the challenge they present. It is a very efficient way to exercise because only one piece of equipment is required.

You can choose to hold the kettlebell in either one or both hands as you move through a variety of swings, presses or pulling motions. Some movements will even require you to change weight from one hand to the other as the weight swings up or as you move laterally. When movements such as these occur, it is necessary to stabilize your body. This engages your core in a completely different manner from other types of exercises. Other exercises require you to use power from your legs and hip. When you are required to move the weight in this way, you will be executing full body movements you often don't receive with other types of fitness training.

Because they are versatile, kettlebell exercises can combine such movements to work the various muscles groups as mentioned above. While some will target a specific group, they may also work other parts of the body simultaneously, thus giving you a truly unique fitness experience. As you grow accustomed to using the kettlebell and moving through the various exercises you integrate into your routine, you may even choose to increase the amount of weight you are using. As with all other exercises, you will need to start out with one or two sets with a lower number of repetitions. As you increase the amount of weight you are using you can also increase the number of sets and reps.

Kettlebell exercises will fit within any type of workout routine and are quite beneficial because they provide many benefits as noted above. They have become very popular among both men and women and can be executed either at the gym or at home. The versatility of kettlebell exercises will add a whole dimension to any workout and make exercising more fun.
