Weight Loss Exercises are a real pain, right?

Or they have to be a pain to work, to lose those pounds and keep them off.

Weight loss exercises have to be like those torture sessions we see on the extreme weight loss type of shows – people have to be pushed to the breaking point, right?

Well, yes and no. You need to work out hard and smart. You can't overdo it or you'll quit.

While it is true that most recruits going to basic training in the armed services will lose weight, most of them will not want to go back and repeat the experience for fun it wasn't. Likewise, how many of those contestants on those weight loss shows will keep exercising the more- torture –the- better way?

None!

When losing weight it is usually coupled with the advice to begin exercising. Most people who lose weight and keep it off do exercise. Most of these success stories are exercising because exercise has become a part of their life. They enjoy it. It is not torture. Contrary to rumor and late night television, there is no one exercise that will focus on an area of the body and reduce the weight in that area. Weight must be lost over all and then the troublesome areas will generally follow.

Before beginning any exercise program it is really important that you check in with your doctor. Do not jump into an exercise program without knowing what type of shape you are really in internally. To do so could mean injury or even death.

Weight loss exercises should be enjoyable to you. If not, you will not continue and you will not be one of those success stories.

Going on the theory that exercise can be fun and incorporated into lifestyle opens the possibilities endlessly. The extremes can go from rock climbing to gardening. Find a local weight loss support group and attend weekly meetings.

Weight loss exercises of course are most successful when combined with proper diet. Often a person can exercise and exercise, but shedding pounds is elusive. It is all about balance. Set appropriate fat loss goals for yourself and ask your friends or family to hold you accountable.

What is surprising is the amount of calories doing ordinary activities will accomplish. Walking can burn up to seven calories an hour, while jogging can burn up to thirteen and cross-country skiing up to eighteen. Sex can burn up to seven calories per hour. Even cutting the grass will burn about five calories per hour. Most people do not think of their trips up and down the stairs to get the laundry as exercise, but count it surly does.

Weight loss exercises are really a matter of a mind-set. You've probably heard it over and over again about walking the dog or parking in the furthest spot away from the store, and these are important things to incorporate into daily life. However, when choosing weight loss exercises be sure to do something that you really enjoy. Then each lost pound will be a joy in more than one way.
