Advisory Board
Christopher Cabrera Christopher Cabrera is a seasoned executive with over two decades of successful senior management experience at both early-stage and public companies. At these he has managed sales, marketing, operations, and business development.
Mr. Cabrera is a noted industry expert in issues relating to sales performance management, sales compensation, enterprise and on-demand delivery models, and co-author of the Wiley Publishing book Xactly Sales Compensation for Dummies. He is also a contributing writer to such industry publications as Destinationcrm.com, BusinessFinance, Sandhill.com, CustomerThink, CRM Buyer and the Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Journal. Mr. Cabrera is also a board member of the San Jose Downtown Association.
Prior to founding Xactly Corporation, Mr. Cabrera was the senior vice president of operations for Callidus Software (NASDAQ: CALD), a leading provider of enterprise incentive compensation management systems to global companies. At Callidus he was responsible for the execution of worldwide sales and marketing strategies, customer advocacy and strategic alliances with companies such as IBM, Accenture and Deloitte. Under his leadership, the company acquired more than 100 customers, contributing to the growth of annual revenues from zero to greater than $75 million and a successful IPO in 2003 raising more than $70 million.
Mr. Cabrera earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
Thom Downing
Thom was certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) in 1993 and in 1994 earned a Masters degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Athletic Training, from San Jose State University .
Thom has had a wide range of work experiences including thirteen years as a commercial salmon fisherman in his hometown of Kodiak, Alaska. In addition, he has acted as Director of Rehabilitation at South Bay Pain and Rehabilitation in Los Gatos, California, and a consultant to the San Jose Sharks community Development program. Thom is the Co-Founder and Owner of Focused Individual Training (FIT) in Los Altos, California, and most recently (2004) Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board for Hyperstrike.com, an online health and fitness engine. Thom currently serves as a consultant to the Hill-Glazier architectural firm on Fitness Area Design for its Hotels around the world.
Thom has worked with professional, collegiate and recreational athletes at all levels. He has competed in triathlons of all distances around the country, culiminating with Ironman Canada in 2003. Through this unique work and life history, Thom has gained extensive experience with a wide range of clients, services and markets. Thom enjoys backpacking, fishing, ice hockey, and spending time with his wife; Tracey, son; Jake and his lab; “Kodiak”.
Chris Raniere
Chris brings over 15 years of executive management, operational and business development experience to Revcube. A true entrepreneur, Chris has founded a string of successful companies and been a pioneer in the online marketing industry. Prior to Revcube, Chris co-founded and served as COO for Fathom Online, an early leader in search marketing. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as VP of Business Development for GlobalStreams. As a VP at Ask Jeeves, Inc., Chris launched the Text Ad Network which utilized an open market concept for online advertising purchase within keyword markets. As part of the executive management team at his original start-up, Cybernautics, Chris was integral in the sale of the organization to USWeb. Educated at Vanderbilt University and the London School of Economics, Chris holds degrees in both Engineering and Economics.
